(map) This popular ‘cue joint from Lago Vista has just opened a place near Lakeway, and what a place! It’s huge, with four different dining areas, plus lots of tables outside (good, now that we can finally go outside without melting). There’s a waitstaff to provide table service, which is a break from most stand-in-line-to-order places. Above, the two-meat plate with beef brisket and sausage, cole slaw and potato casserole. The juicy brisket had just the right amount of smoke. Potato casserole is like slices of baked potato in queso – heaven! That’s a side of crispy sweet potato fries in the back.

You can order nachos with anything on ‘em – these are topped with “jala-que,” a Tug’s original. It’s a mix of chopped beef, sausage and jalapenos, so it’s super-spicy. Jala-que makes great nachos. You can also choose from a variety of burgers, sliders, ribs, chicken, even seafood.

This is a Blue Moon Belgian White Ale, traditionally served with a slice of orange. Several beers are on tap, plus there’s wine and a full bar available.

There are four different dining areas, filled with heavy cedar furniture that gives the place sort of a rustic-chic feel. Dining areas are separated in some cases by split logs.
