(map) Lakeway’s newest hotspot is (literally) jazzing things up out West. Billed as a 1920s, speakeasy-style jazz club, The Syndicate features creative cocktails, small plates made with fresh local ingredients, and a stage to showcase live, big-band-type music Thursday through Saturday. The menu offers a variety of small plates, from appetizers to larger tapas to share. Below, the Oysters Rockefeller. The oysters are shucked to order in the kitchen, then baked with chopped spinach, parmesan and parsley. You’ll also find classics like clams casino, Caesar salad, steamed mussels, and fried calamari. The kitchen makes everything, including their own ketchup and mayo.

The decadent decor features glitzy chandeliers, custom wine-bottle fixtures, mirrors and cushy seats. Below, the duck-confit ravioli. The confit is made in-house, then stuffed into little pillows of pasta which are sauteed in brown butter, and topped with shaved parmesan.

Plenty of seating indoors and out. The weather’s a bit warm, though, to listen to le jazz hot outside!

Wow! I had no idea! I was judging this place (without ever checking it out) because of the past places that have been there.

I can’t wait to check it out!
