(map) Local fave Flores Mexican Restaurant has moved out of a strip center to a new, freestanding, large and colorful location. Judging by the crowds, the new place is a hit! There’s more emphasis on the bar here, with big-screen TVs, specialty drinks and lots of beers on tap. You can eat in the bar if you like, although with two huge dining areas as well as a patio, there’s not likely to be much of a wait to worry about.
There’s plenty of cerveza and ritas on hand to slake your thirst, as well as daiquiris, cosmos and pina coladas. The menu is extensive, with lots of seafood, combos and specialty plates. You can order fajitas with beef, chicken, shrimp or below, pork. The meaty, sizzling plate is large enough to share.
Fajita nachos come in any variety as well. These are heaped with peppers, onions and lots of tender pork.
The two dining areas are colorfully decorated and laid out efficiently to handle some fairly big crowds. There’s an extensive outdoor patio for dining as well. The patio overlooks an enormous playscape, which makes it easy to keep an eye on the kiddos while you sip your rita.
The heavy dinner-service demand had not one but two tortilla ladies busily cranking out the fresh tortillas.
