(map) There are a lot of places to buy pumpkins, but it’s hard to find a patch more deserving than this. The pumpkins are grown by a Navajo tribe in New Mexico. Freshly cut, they’re brought to the hillside next to Acts Church. The church folks send two-thirds of the sales to the tribe, then use the other third for church projects. They’ve been running the patch for eleven years, so they must be doing something right! Prices range from 50¢ to $40.
