(map) Does anything taste better than fresh strawberries? How about some really fresh ones you pick yourself? You can do just that at this pick-your-own place near Marble Falls. For the next few weeks, rows and rows of berry-filled plants are (literally) ripe for the picking. Grab a box at the Welcome Booth and start eating picking!
The rows are nicely spaced apart so it doesn’t feel crowded. There are three big fields so there’s plenty of room for everyone. That said, they do advise getting there early for the best selection.
Unlike blackberries, which have thorns, strawberries are easy to pick. You just look for the ripest ones and pull them off. There is a lot of bending over, which makes it a great activity for little kids.
When you’re done, you just weigh your box and pay by the pound (yes, they know you’ve eaten a few along the way). Later in May, come back and dig for new potatoes and then pick blackberries.

Nothing like fresh local produce! We love going out to Sweet Berry Farm…especially in the fall for the pumpkins. Thanks for the reminder that it’s strawberry season in TX.

my kiddos love this..you can also pull potatoes..which may sound weird…but for a 4 yr old it’s a rude awakening considering they think potatoes come from HEB
Ed. reply: We are going back in May for potato digging! Have never done it but it sounds like fun.
