(map) The beer from Jester King Brewery is so amazing, all it needs is one thing: pizza. Now, with the addition of this wood-burning pizza oven, the eat, drink, and be merry picture is complete (open on Saturdays and Sundays). Stanley’s offers a short-but-satisfying menu of pizzas showcasing fresh local ingredients and pizza dough cold-fermented for three days. Above, the Penelope, their take on a BLT, with thinly sliced smoked speck ham, tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and plenty of arugula. Heaven.
The chefs stoke the fire as they whip up your pizza order. There are several Jester King beers on tap, as well as offerings from 512 and Live Oak Brewing. Pizzas are served in boxes and in January, they plan to start growing oyster mushrooms on the recycled cardboard. Then the mushrooms will go onto the menu. It’s the circle of life!
The restaurant is built more like a shed, with an ingenious design that lets them open or close the walls depending on the weather. Below, the current menu, with pizzas named after the cows that originally roamed this property near Drippin’. Ferdinand must have been a handful!
