(map) Happy hour may be dubbed Social Hour at Eleven Plates & wine, but that doesn’t make it any less fun. In fact, special prices every day on signature cocktails and appetizers, plus a great patio overlooking the hills make the afternoon very festive. Above, a margarita and the English Summer, a refreshing mix of Pimm’s Cup, St. Germain elderflower, lemon, strawberry, cucumber and mint, get things off to a good start.
Mussels poached in coconut green curry are one of several small plates specially priced at happy hour. Just $5, they are succulent and juicy. The lettuce wraps, below, are filled with the fish of the day – in this case rockfish – herbs, and heirloom tomatoes. Note the attention to detail in peeling the tomatoes in both dishes.
Ceviche also varies by the day, but in this case is ahi tuna, with fresh wasabi, citrus, jalapeno and coconut milk. An excellent deal at just $5. You can dine inside the restaurant, or out on the expansive patio overlooking the western hills.
Another Social Hour special, margherita flatbread, is a satisfyingly simple dish with tomato and mozzarella. The interior of the restaurant has a chic-yet-cozy decor that complements the food. Social Hour starts at 3 every day, with special prices on small plates, cocktails and glasses of wine.
