(map) This contemporary restaurant closed briefly for a remodeling, but now is back with a new chef, new menu, and a new dining room. The menu offers a range of “small plates” like sliders, sauteed mussels and seared crab cakes, as well as a happy hour list. This truffled white-cheddar mac and cheese, above, is one of the happy-hour specials. Creamy, garlicky, and redolent with that earthy truffle scent, it makes for a very happy hour indeed!
This tuna tartare is one of Sobani’s new small plates. Fried wonton chips are stacked with sparkling ahi tuna and a mango pico de gallo, then teamed with wasabi aioli and a balsamic glaze. A tower of deliciousness. Below, the dining room has been opened up, with walls removed to brighten the space and improve sightlines.
Another of the happy-hour specials, spicy deviled eggs, lives up to its billing with a dash (or two) of cayenne. The menu also offers burgers, salads, an oyster poboy, steaks and pasta, with edamame to start things off right. When the weather warms up, the patio makes a pleasant al fresco dining option.
