21 Jul 2011Austin’s food-trailer craze is spreading out West! A large parking lot off 620 (see location here) is the designated space for eight to ten trailers (three are in place so far). Rosita’s serves tacos and plate lunches, as well as this unusual sandwich. The Pambazo is crazy-messy, but also crazy-good. For $3.50, you get a choice of fillings: pork, beef, chicken, or in this case, barbacoa. They dip the bun in bright-red, homemade guajillo sauce, then pile on refried beans, tomato, avocado, and crema. The roasted barbacoa is sooo tender.
Breakfast tacos are just $1, and they make the tortillas themselves, along with the salsas. There’s also a barbecue trailer on the site. Can’t wait to see what other trailers join them; this is a great start!

What’s the nearest intersection? What’s close to this? The map was a bit confusing. This looks really good.
Ed. reply: Ella, it’s the parking lot at Blanchard’s Upholstery, next to Frozy’s. Lonnie Blanchard has a huge parking lot, so he’s leasing it out to trailers. Word is he’s talking to Jeff Blank of Hudson’s to install a Mighty Cone. How awesome would THAT be?!
