New Po’Boys at Stuffed

(map) The crafty Cajuns at this meat market have been cooking up hot meals like red beans and rice, gumbo, etouffee and jambalaya. (See a previous writeup on the place here.) This week they added that classic Louisiana sandwich, the po’boy, to the menu. Made with authentic soft-but-crusty po’boy bread, you can get yours stuffed with fried shrimp, oysters or crawfish. The shrimp, above, was loaded with big, juicy shrimp, lettuce and tomatoes. It’s dressed with Stuffed’s own homemade tartar sauce, which you can also buy in jars to take home. It came with a side of thin and crispy hand-cut fries seasoned with Cajun spices (you can also get their homemade potato salad or green beans smothered with onion and their own smoky bacon). The po’boy tasted so good – just like one you’d discover in south Louisiana. Served from 11 to 4; prices range from $7.99-$9.99.
