New Bar Menu at Dominick’s

In: Eating

3 Mar 2011

UPDATE: closed (map) Since Ciola’s became Dominick’s (more about that here), new owner Dave is changing up some things. Now you can enjoy tasty new small dishes from 4 to 7 pm in the bar. Everything’s just $7.50, and there are drink specials, too, like $2 off wine by the glass. Above, the Italian Sliders, in your choice of meatballs, chicken parmesan or sausage and peppers. They make their own fennel sausage here, and the taste and texture are fantastic. The sausage is topped with sauteed sliced peppers and marinara sauce, and served on soft ciabatta rolls.

Every day, a different appetizer from the regular menu is featured at half-price. Here, the shrimp scampi, the shrimp breaded in panko and lightly fried, served on fresh sauteed spinach with a rich lemon-butter sauce.

Bet you’ve never seen these before: Italian nachos! Dominick’s calls them “Pasta Croccante,” which means crunchy pasta. The fried pasta chips are topped with your choice of Bolognese, Chicken Alfredo or Veggie. This is the Bolognese, with marinara sauce, spicy peperoncini, and salty kalamata olives.

They’re changing the decor of the bar a bit to be a more-welcoming place to hang out, with tall tables replacing some booths. Hope they won’t get rid of the old-school purse hooks underneath the bar; more places need those!

Unfortunately Dominick’s is closed with a failure to pay rent sign on the front.

Ed. Reply: Thanks for the tip and sorry to hear it. 🙁
