Mansfield Dam Park

This park gets 300,000 visitors a year, and it’s easy to see why. It’s beautiful and beautifully maintained. Mansfield offers shaded picnicking, swimming and camping areas across 71 acres on one of the most scenic spots on Lake Travis. There’s a designated swimming cove, with shallow areas for easy wading in and out. There’s a dive area for scuba divers, with an underwater dive trail offering a sunken boat and a sunken plane for exploring 100 feet below the surface. The many picnic tables have built-in grills for barbecuing. Pets are allowed (on leashes), and the park is impeccably clean. It’s one of seven Travis County parks on Lake Travis. Best of all, you can bring in a whole carful of people for just $10!

The dock makes a good staging spot for a houseboat party.

The boat ramp is the lowest one on the lake. Last year, when all the rest had closed, this one was still open.

There are several clean, contemporary restroom buildings throughout the park, with indoor and outdoor showers.

When you're out of the water, one of the picnic areas has a playscape, climbing boulder and chess tables.

Forget the kids' lifejackets? No problem. The park will loan them one.
