Lunch at VIVO

UPDATE: closed (map) This sultry, “better than sex…Tex-Mex!” spot just started serving lunch. On the menu are most of the old faves, and some new, lighter additions as well: Shrimp Enchiladas, Shrimp Quesadillas, and this amazing grilled-shrimp salad, above. Five large, juicy grilled shrimp top field greens dressed in an ancho-chile vinaigrette. It’s filled with chopped tomatoes and cucumbers, local goat cheese and best of all, spicy candied pecans.

Pop music plays along with the fountain on the shady patio. It’s a cool, inviting accent that screens out the parking lot on the other side.

VIVO offers a number of out-of-the-ordinary margaritas, like cucumber, hibiscus, and the prickly-pear ‘rita above. It’s a combo of frozen margarita deliciousness, swirled with prickly-pear puree. The neon-colored fruit is tart but sweet, with a faintly exotic flavor. Cheers!

Just as with dinner, all the ladies are presented with a rose at the end of their meal. VIVO knows the way to a woman’s heart!
