(map) Lighthouse just opened in the former Lakehouse spot at the Briarcliff marina. The place is similar, but the new menu places more emphasis on burgers and barbecue. If you’re a ‘cue fan, you’ll love that almost every dish includes it, from sliders, nachos and “Texas egg rolls” to barbecue sandwiches, plates and the “cowboy sundae.”
The Lighthouse BBQ burger, a hefty, hand-pressed big ‘un, is topped with sweet barbecue sauce and a little “secret sauce” on the side. It has a nice, meaty flavor and comes with a pile of crispy fries.
The place is pretty casual, as most folks come in off the lake. You can also sit outside on the deck shaded by huge oak trees. There’s a full bar, along with beer and wine. Below, the Texas Cheese Steak. Chunks of tender, smoky brisket are tossed with grilled peppers and onions and cheddar cheese. Your choice of sides – these are sweet BBQ beans and a dill potato salad.
