(map) New wineries are sprouting up along the Wine Road 290, giving us lucky wine-lovers more opportunities to try new grape varietals, along with new methods of making wine. The winemaker here is originally from France, which makes two French winemakers in residence along this stretch of road.
The tasting room is open by appointment Friday through Sunday, and pairs carefully selected bites of food to enhance and complement each wine. Tasting five wines paired with food is $20, with $5 off for each bottle you buy. The winery opened less than a year ago, and offers three white wines made from Texas fruit, along with two reds made from California grapes.
If you’d rather be a little less formal, you can enjoy a glass or bottle on the patio overlooking the vineyards. The winery has been busy since opening – over 3,300 vines have been planted on the property. The name comes from Kuhlman Creek, which winds along the property, heading to the Pedernales River (and, eventually, Lake Travis). Cheers!
