Johnny Fin’s Feeding Frenzy

(UPDATE: closed) Yes, there’s live music here at this place on Lake Travis, but another kind of live entertainment is even more popular: feeding the ducks and fish. Casual and laid-back, Johnny Fin’s is all about kids – toddlers dance and sway to the music and sometimes even climb onstage. And they all love throwing their French fries and fried pickles into the water.

If you don’t want to give up your fries, you can buy real fish food for 25¢.

Huge carp compete with the ducks for food. This one looks like a giant goldfish.

Johnny Fin’s has people food as well. This is the Big Salad, which you can have topped with grilled or fried chicken or shrimp, chicken or beef fajitas. This one has mounds of bleu cheese and real bacon.

You can dip the chicken-fried pork ribs in warm barbecue sauce or cream gravy. Save some fries for the ducks!

The ducks are always around. Sometimes, if no one’s feeding them, they’ll hop up on the deck and waddle into the restaurant, looking for handouts.
