Jalapeno-Bacon Pancakes at Santa Rita Tex Mex Cantina

(map) Only a place as colorful as this one could come up with such an eye-opener for breakfast. Santa Rita takes their secret recipe for Mexican vanilla-cinnamon pancakes and kicks it up a notch. They add crunchy pieces of bacon and fresh chopped jalapenos to the batter before cooking. Every bite is a combo of sweet/smoky/spicy heaven. As if that weren’t enough, that’s real butter and real maple syrup on the side. They also have regular breakfast stuff like migas, huevos and tacos.

This arty place is wildly and imaginatively decorated, with colorful stencils, murals of oversized roses, antique Mexican movie posters – even the cacti is colorful!
