Ice-skating at Barton Creek Resort near Austin, Texas

(map) Soon, Austin’s largest outdoor ice rink opens for the season at Barton Creek Resort. The 4,100-square-foot rink will be open from December 18 through January 6 (check the website for hours). The rink features 200,000 twinkling lights to amp up your holiday spirits, and this year, there will be special skating sessions with Santa. Hot chocolate and cider are on-hand, too. $20-25 per person. Barton Creek Resort website

Thanks for the heads up!

Going to Denver in a few days to celebrate Christmas. I told my daughter there’s SO much to do in Austin… surely there’s plenty to do in Denver.

But seriously, I think Austin has Denver beat.

BTW, when I tweeted this article, the tweet only had:

I had to add “@wowaustin.” I don’t use the plugin you’re using but there should be a place in your settings to tag yourself so you’ll show up when pp share.

Ed. Reply: Thanks for the suggestion!
