Happy Hour at The Grille at Rough Hollow

(map) The Grille just got a new chef (from Vespaio, no less), and, while they revamp their menu, are putting on an awesome happy hour. It runs six days a week, from 4 to 7, and features 12 half-priced appetizers, plus $4 wine and $3 beer. Feeling happy yet? Above, the street tacos duo. One duo is a mini beef fajita-cabbage combo, the other, roasted chicken with shoestring fries. Creamy guacamole complements both.

The Effortless Wings, while delicious, are a work in progress and may look nothing like this when you try them. The plan is to create more of a “lollipop” look with a bone you can more easily gnaw on. Crunchy and perfectly fried, they’re served with three dipping sauces: tarragon butter, jalapeno barbecue, and a sweet, jammy blackberry.

There are two kinds of sliders: Niman Ranch beef and these mini grilled-tuna burgers. They’re given an Asian flavor with soy, daikon sprouts and wasabi mayo. Below, the amazing view from The Grille, always free of charge.

I can’t wait to try this restaurant. I’ve heard good things about this chef, and what a view!

The food and service has always been fantastic. Looking forward to the new chef showing his talents.
