(map) This restaurant may have just opened, but it’s already getting local raves for its “contemporary American comfort food.” Steaks, root-beer-glazed baby-back ribs, blackened mahi-mahi and seven different half-pound burgers star on the menu, as well as these ahi-tuna nachos, above. Topped with sesame seeds and a sweet chili vinaigrette, the sparkling-fresh tuna is served on lightly fried wonton crisps instead of tortilla chips.
The airy interior has been completely redone to banish all vestiges of Mulligan’s. The rooms are opened up, with high ceilings and cool, contemporary finishes. There’s a half-circle bar, and tall tables in the bar area for eating, drinking or chatting.
The large lounge area is lined with couches and seems to be popular with the ladies. Hip but laid-back music plays in the background.
The patio has one wall open to the outdoors. That way, you can get that al fresco dining feel while still staying comfortable. There’s a good wine list, and lots of specialty cocktails, like martinis, a “new-fashioned,” and the Fore-play. By the way, they are introducing “4 at Fore,” a new happy hour with $4 wine and cocktails and $4 appetizer specials.
