Foie Gras Eggs Benedict

UPDATE: closed (map) If you’d like to feel like a billionaire, try The World’s Richest Breakfast. It’s not the most expensive. But it’s got to be the most decadent. The Goodnight Diner specializes in comfort food with a gourmet twist (read about their sriracha fried chicken & waffles here). The chefs bake their own bread, smoke their own bacon, and rock this eggs benedict like nobody’s business. Silky-smooth foie gras pairs with poached farm eggs and a rich, lemony hollandaise. Happy Sunday Funday!

I just ate at this place, and it was fantastic. A lot of places say they grind their own meat, but I usually don’t taste much of a difference. However, the patties on the burger I ate here tasted very much like grilled steak. They were were juicy but had a nice, smoky char. So many other places opt for the flattop because they don’t know how to cook over a flame without drying out the burger, which is frustrating because the first burger (which should be the standard) was charbroiled. The cornbread, sweet potatoes, and mac n cheese are comfort food at its finest. I hope people will continue discovering this little place. It’s pretty crazy that not that far from the Goodnight Diner is the equally impressive Ino’z burger. There seems to be an unusually high concentration of great burgers in the San Marcos/Wimberley area for some reason.

Ed. Reply: Thanks, and thanks for the tip on Ino’z!
