(map) Flat Creek Estate is known for making great wines like the “Super Texan” sangiovese. They’re also known for being a bit off the beaten path. That changes with the opening of their new Enoteca in downtown Marble Falls. A combination tasting room, wine bar and wood-burning pizza oven, it will have wine-lovers saying, “Salute!” The Enoteca pours not just Flat Creek wines, but Italian vino as well.
The wood-burning pizza oven cooks up beauties like the La Bandiera, above. It’s a dazzling combination of pistachio pesto, mushrooms, house-made marinara sauce and fresh mozzarella on a crispy thin crust.
The margarita pizza showcased two kinds of juicy, ripe tomatoes and more fresh mozzarella. There are also a variety of salads and sandwiches on the menu.
You order at the counter, and they bring your food to you. As far as wines go, you can do a flight of tastings, or order a glass or bottle to bring to your table. Many Italian wines (including prosecco) are on hand, and this fancy machine below lets you try as many as you like while keeping air from spoiling them. You swipe your card and the machine dispenses a taste, a half-pour, or a full glass. Benvenuto to Marble Falls, Flat Creek!
