Fall Creek at Driftwood

(map) Two reasons to visit this new winery: Texas Monthly wine writer Jessica Dupuy recently named Fall Creek’s GSM wine one of the top ten reds in Texas. And they’ve just opened this gorgeous location closer to Austin. Located in Driftwood directly across from the Salt Lick barbecue mecca, Fall Creek celebrated in grand style with complimentary chef-prepared treats. This year, they offer a small-plate menu.

The tasting room is located on a 17-acre estate. Plans are to plant grapes on the rolling hills, reminiscent of Europe. Fall Creek is one of the oldest wineries in Texas. This new location puts them closer to the Hill Country wine trail action.

There are two tasting areas, one with tables overlooking the fireplace. In nice weather, there’s also an outdoor patio. You can choose from a variety of tastings, or order a glass or bottle. Don’t miss the GSM and cheers!
