23 Feb 2012(map) Austin’s food trailer love-fest continues to grow out West, with the addition of this new rolling refectory. The chef behind Diner on Wheels hails from New Mexico, famous for its spicy green chiles. The chef’s specialty is slow-roasting those chiles by the bushel to make a delicious green-chile sauce, using it to kick up burgers, sliders, tacos and more.
Tacos include the “Kick Ass” pulled pork with cheese, green chile sauce and half a roasted green chile. Feel the burn! Green Frito Pie, below, is the vegetarian offering with black beans. You can also get Red Frito Pie with chile con carne.
The trailer is open from 11 to 7 every day except Monday. They plan to add snow cones and ice cream when the weather warms up.

Ella, I am so sorry to hear that. I spoke to him Tuesday, and he told me he wasn’t feeling well, so I’m sure that is why they were closed today. Please keep trying….the food is amazing!!
