Cottages at La Hacienda RV Resort

(map) If you’re looking for a getaway near Lake Travis, or live out here and have some relatives you need to accommodate, check out these cute cottages at La Hacienda. There are 15 of them throughout 45 acres, in different colors and differently configured inside to sleep from four to eight. They’re fully furnished with kitchen stuff so you can cook indoors or grill outside. They’re even pet-friendly.

The Trinity cottage has a bedroom with one queen bed. A sofa just to the right opens out into another bed.

La Hacienda is fairly new, with tons of amenities. There are two big pools, a fitness center, wifi, cable, laundry, and a playscape. They’re working on putting in a driving range. It’s close to several marinas where you can rent jet-skis or boats, as well as fun hangouts like Carlos ‘n Charlies and Los Pinos.

They hold barbecues and parties in the event pavilion.

Tom, chief cook and bottle-washer (and raconteur).

There are two pools and a hot tub, and Lake Travis is 10 minutes away.

Sure the park is nice, sorry to say the owners have very personal and ugly problems. Was there last weekend and I suppose they didn’t see me behind the office racks where they keep their merchandise, it was quiet, no one was in the office but this older guy with a hat and a lady with short hair behind a desk. All of the sudden he started talking really mean to her and putting her down. I was so embarrassed I didn’t want to move and have them see me so I kept quiet hoping it would end quickly but it didn’t. The guy went on and on and I decided to help the lady by stepping out and sure enough when he saw me he stopped cold and almost freaked out. He quickly left the building and I didn’t know what to do. It was very awkward. The next day I asked the person next to my rv who this guy is and they told me it was the park owner Tom. I am pretty sure the lady in the office was probably his wife. It made me so sad. The neighbors told me this Tom guy has problems and was pretty rude to them when they arrived late the night before. He complained about having to get up and help them because they couldn’t find their spot. Too bad I had to see this. I don’t think I will be back.

Ed. Reply: Sorry to hear that!
