(map) ”Get hooked!” is the motto at this new, artisanal smoked-salmon shop. One bite of their silky, fresh-tasting, cold-smoked salmon and you will be. Chef Sebastien trained in the kitchen in all kinds of cuisines, but a few years ago, decided the world needed a better smoked salmon. Lucky for us, he and his wife Stephanie also decided to move to Dripping Springs this year. Celtic Seafare offers both cold-smoked and hot-smoked salmon, with an emphasis on flavors in the hot-smoked line: honey, lemongrass, ginger, even Tito’s vodka. (Photo by Dan Gentile)
Several of the top restaurants in Austin are discovering Chef Sebastien’s line, as well as finding creative ways to showcase his flavors. The cold-smoked salmon filets are hand-selected from Scotland and British Columbia, then cured with sea salt and cane sugar. Smoking below 90 degrees ensures that melt-in-your-mouth texture. The store offers tastings Thursdays through Saturdays, so get your taste on!
