Buster’s BBQ

Buster’s has just reopened after moving from their old location into a fancy new space. Okay, it’s not fancy-schmancy, but it is pretty nice for a ‘cue joint. Their barbecue is still as fantastic as ever. Above, the two-meat platter, featuring chopped beef brisket and the unique-to-Buster’s “Garlic Bomb.” The Garlic Bomb is pork shoulder that’s been stuffed with whole cloves of garlic (in the spicy Garlic ‘H’ Bomb, the cloves of garlic are stuffed into whole jalapenos, then those are stuffed into the pork shoulder). So good! Sometimes, pork can be dry when smoked, but these slices were tender and juicy. The chunky beef was marbled and flavorful, and covered in a tangy sauce. That’s potato salad, along with their incredibly delicious peach cobbler. The crust was all crispy-crumbly with cinnamon and sugar. Welcome back, Buster’s!

Their new "beer garden." On Thursdays out here, they have the Freddy Powers Throwdown, music starting at 6.

Longtime employee Thomas says the place was closed for over a year.

I have not had the Garlic H Bomb in about 15 years. The last time I had it Busters had a tin roof that was water cooled. Best BBQ sandwich I have ever had. I have tried to replicate it now that I have transferred to Wisconsin but no way.. Never even close.
