Buster’s BBQ Goes Coastal

(map) Tim, the owner of Buster’s, is always coming up with new ideas. So he’s decided that Fridays are the time when Buster’s “Goes Coastal.” He’s setting up an oyster bar out in the Beer Garden, serving raw oysters for $1.25 each, plus other seafood specials. Coming soon: smoked salmon, smoked duck and shrimp remoulade.  Live music and glasses of wine for just $3.50 make for a pretty festive time.

Oysters Rockefeller and Oysters Bienville were served on a bed of hot rock salt. You can order as many as you like ($2 each). The Bienville is topped with a decadent blend of chopped shrimp, bechamel sauce, Parmesan and Romano cheeses.

As they say in Louisiana, talk about good! The smoked-duck and shrimp gumbo was full of flavor and just the right size.

There’s live music Thursdays and Fridays out in the “Beer Garden,” a deck shaded by huge oaks covered in twinkling lights.

You can order the chicken and sausage gumbo anytime, not just Fridays. Chock-full of smoked chicken, spicy sausage and okra – yum!
