(map) There can’t be a more fun and festive Sunday brunch anywhere than this one. From 10 to 2, there’s a buffet line 100 yards long with something for everyone: farm-fresh salads, entrees, side dishes, fresh-baked breads and of course, desserts. You order your eggs, biscuits and pancakes from your server. For everything else, you help yourself — as many times as you like, all for a reasonable price of $15.99. Let the feeding frenzy begin!

Silver-dollar pancakes with bacon and spicy jalapeno sausage are light and fluffy, with a hint of cinnamon.

Fresh-baked biscuits are topped with a decadent green-chile cream gravy.

The menu changes from week to week, depending on what Jack picks up at the farmers markets.

Bacon, jalapeno sausage, and in front, chicken-fried chicken and chicken-fried pork tenderloin. You can top those with spicy green-chile cream gravy. The chicken and pork were both delicious – crunchy outside, juicy and tender inside.

This is what happens when you serve yourself instead of a chef — you end up with a giant pile of awesomeness that is not so picturesque. There’s way too much to list, but for starters: Cheesy tomato-basil pie, enchilada casserole, sweet potato hash, shepherd’s pie, house-cured ham, pumpkin scones, creamy cheddar grits, green-tomato chow-chow, black beans, banana bread, apple-pecan strudel … and that’s before dessert!

We were in Austin Saturday and caught Jack on TV. He prepared a pasta dish with fresh made pasta. We went to Farmers Market that morning and bought the pasta. Wish I could remember the sauce he prepared on the TV spot. Could you email it to me? Please! Just checked out your website. We will definitely be coming soon! Sounds wonderful.

The owners of this place are just awesomely nice and wonderful. I am so happy for their success and can’t wait to free up some time to make it over. I hear it’s very yummy!

EVEN BETTER -they’re open the (Sun)day after Christmas! so take the whole company crew to Jack’s for brunch, let them cook & clean up, and you look like a hero!

I do not want to be mean, but I do not know what all the fuss is about. Service was exceptional, but the buffet was below average, pancakes were dry, sausage was either greasy or over cooked and dry and hard, the rest of the food was bland. We will not be returning to Jack Allen for brunch.
