(map) They’re doing several specials for Easter Sunday, but brunch here is pretty darn special any Sunday. Gumbo’s strength is giving the classics a Louisiana twist, like this scrumptious Strawberry French Toast. It starts with French baguettes they bake themselves. The French bread is sliced thin, then loaded with fresh strawberries and drizzled with strawberry syrup.
Eggs Sardou are another Louisiana take on the classic Eggs Benedict. Softly poached eggs are eased over sauteed spinach and artichoke hearts, then topped with a smoky tasso (Louisiana ham) hollandaise. A base of roasted red potatoes helps you mop up all the egg-sauce goodness.
Gumbo’s also offers crepes, omelets and more egg options, or you can even order off the regular menu. There are several dining options. You can dine in the genteel atmosphere of the carpeted inside room, where Louisiana jazz fills the air….
Or you can sit out on the more casual enclosed patio….
Or, if the weather’s fabulous, dine outside on the balcony and enjoy an amazing view (and the antics of the ducks!).
