Breakfast at Sandeez

(map) Now that we’ve all broken our New Year’s resolutions, we can start enjoying food like this again. Sandeez (aka Sandy’s) is known for burgers, but dishes up some good breakfasts, too. Old-school diner faves like eggs over easy, sausage, biscuits and a hot mess of crispy hash browns, above. It’ll cure what ails you!

On Sundays, church-goers mingle with the hungover to enjoy classics like hot, fluffy pancakes and bacon, fried eggs and bacon – heck, everything goes with bacon. The only thing missing is a joke-cracking waitress named Flo (you order at the counter and serve your own coffee).

Love the sign on the TV here. (It seems to be tuned mostly to infomercials for the Jack Lalanne juicer.)

The decor here is bumper-sticker modern, replete with sentiments like “Texas women shoot their own snakes.” There’s some old-school lake memorabilia tossed in here and there. Nothing’s changed in decades, ’cause why fix it if it ain’t broke?
